Deadlock

At a standstill
frozen in separation's chill
devoid of will to be
heart's fallen leaves
dying stallion of heaves
totally bereft of thee
I woefully weep
praying for eternal sleep.

No strings attached
to establish a connection
victim of beauty unmatched
I am addicted to you
in need for intervention
impossible to pull through
no point in grasping at straws
wish I could change the attraction laws.

Finally I slumber
exhausted by despair
no more a living number
oxymoron dreams pay me a visit
spectral visions congesting the air
apparitions quickly inspissate
swept off my spirit amidst a rite
trajectory of a meteorite
a blazing shooting star
entering a new dimension
the aftermath a crash site bizarre
crow messenger in wire suspension.

With a bird's eye view from the distance
the knowledge of your existence
builds up in me resistance
to make it through another day
preventing me from flying astray
thought of you living in the world gives it grace
the planet becomes a better place.

I become the garments enveloping your body
birthmarks, tattoos and scars on your skin
the very shoes you walk in
carrying to cast out your every burden
put sin under lock and key
make it mine and set you free
redemptive act like a sip of toddy.

Into your murky ocean eyes I dive
to the farthest depth
where images of restlessness thrive
observe with a lacking breadth
in the darkest parts of your mind
I embrace your fears, regrets and evil side
lift your spirit up in order to purify
make it ascend whereas I petrify.

Thereby I remove your angsty furrow
kiss the mouth of your feeling cruel kind
while we part, goodnight
float inside the abyss dormant
a sunken former pastime decorement
falling asleep and preparing for tomorrow
only to wake up from dreams within dreams
logic comes apart at the seams
then recall and wail in my real sorrow.

Dreaming of my sorry life in mise en abyme
will my heart ever find its lost gleam
will the black clouds part
reveal a bright sky of pure art
and shine down on me your sunshine beam
me beside you living together as a team?
